The Paramedic Readiness Exam 5 (PRE 5) is now available!
The PRE 5 is a validated and reliable assessment that is composed of 200 multiple-choice questions designed to assess the critical-thinking abilities of a student nearing completion of a Paramedic program. The exam is predictive of future success on the NREMT's cognitive exam and is an excellent tool to prepare students for the challenges of a state or national certification exam.
Prior to the release of the exam, each question was reviewed and approved by an EMS educator advisory committee, a board-certified Emergency Medicine Physician, and a psychometrician. With confidence, the collective group agrees that the exam is valid, reliable, and measures entry-level competency of Paramedic comprehensive knowledge from a national scope. The content reflects current evidence-based practices, standards, and guidelines.
As is the case for the development of all of our exams, we owe a debt of gratitude to the community of EMS educators who participated in the various phases of the development process including, item writing, item selection, revision, and test-item analysis.
The PRE 5 is scheduled the same way you schedule all other Fisdap exams. Simply go to your Test Schedule in the Learning Center and click, "New Test." As always, our exams must be administered in a secure and proctored environment. To learn more about how to schedule a Fisdap exam, please click here.
PRE 3 To Retire
We know that many educators love and rely on the PRE 3, so it will remain available for the next 12 months before retiring. However, please take the time to get to know the PRE 5, as it assesses the same topics as the PRE 3 and PRE 4, but with fresh content.
If you have any questions, please contact the Fisdap Instructor Hotline at 612-877-7251 or email [email protected].
