Fisdap is excited to announce the release of the EMT Readiness Exam 4 (ERE 4)! The ERE 4 is composed of 200 multiple-choice questions designed to assess the critical-thinking abilities of students nearing completion of an EMT initial training program. It is predictive of future success in the form of first-time pass rates on NREMT’s cognitive exam and is an excellent option to help prepare students for the challenges of a state or national certification.

The exam content reflects evidence-based practices, standards and guidelines from sources such as:

• American Heart Association
• NASEMSO National Model EMS Clinical Guidelines
• National EMS Education standards

Using the National EMS Practice Analysis as our outline, the ERE 4 was developed in collaboration with subject matter experts and approved by an EMS educators advisory committee, a board-certified Emergency Medicine Physician, and a measurement expert (psychometrician). The collective group reviewed each question and agreed that the ERE 4 measures entry-level competency of EMT comprehensive knowledge at a national scope, and is both valid and reliable.


ERE 2 to be Retired

We know many educators rely on the ERE 2, but the ERE 4 assesses the same topics with updated and fresh content. We are confident that the ERE 4 will become a trusted training resource, just like the ERE 2. The ERE 2 will be available for the next 6 months before being retired.
