EMS Training Success: Top Training Materials Are Elevating NREMT Pass Rates
Mastering the knowledge and skills necessary to pass the NREMT exams is a critical step for every aspiring EMS worker and paramedic. The intensity and breadth of the exams can be daunting for many candidates.
Jason Marquez, EMT-P is the President and CEO of the First Response Training Group in Orlando, Florida, and was recently named the 2024 EMS Program Director of the year by the Florida Association of EMS Educators. Jason understands this challenge through his multi-decade experience as an EMT/Paramedic educator.
Marquez used Emergency Care and Transportation of the Sick and Injured and Nancy Caroline’s Emergency Care in the Streets to train staff at First Response Training Group (FRTG), which he founded in 2011. FRTG is the largest privately owned Public Safety College in Florida and boasts one of the state’s highest pass rates and the most significant number of graduates.
Marquez says the content in the textbooks has helped students feel more prepared to pass the NREMT exams.
“We offer a free class each year for students struggling to pass the NREMT exam. Utilizing Jones & Bartlett Learning Public Safety Group test banks, we identify areas of weakness and work intensively to bring them up to speed. This program boasts a 94% pass rate,” he says.
Marquez continues by saying that working together with Jones & Bartlett Learning allows FRTG to use the best EMS and paramedic training materials possible.
“We work together to create the best possible product for all students. We actively review new materials, and our feedback is valued. This sense of inclusion is precious to us as a customer,” he says.
