Features
Frequently Asked Questions
Here is a list of key features and benefits of the Competency Tracker: Competency Tracker Guide. In addition to the improved features and functionality, if your program is planning to use the Student Minimum Competency (SMC) Recommendations (2023), you’ll need to use the Competency Tracker.
At the moment, most of the features that are not updated in the Competency Tracker yet are still available through Skills Tracker (even for students that have been switched). This primarily refers to the skill sheets and evaluations. Beyond that, the shift audit and attendance features in Skills Tracker will not be available in the Competency Tracker at launch.
Not all the reports currently available for Skills Tracker will be in the Competency Tracker at launch. Below is a list of reports that will not be in Competency Tracker at launch:
- ALS Runs
- Airway Management
- Attendance Report
- CoAEMSP Appendix E/F
- Eureka Report
- Evals Report
- Hours Report
- Late Data Entry
- Narrative Report
- Observed Team Lead Report
- Preceptor Signoff
- Preceptor Training Completion
- Productivity Report
- Scheduler Shift Requests Report
- Shift Comments Report
- Skills Report
- Test Item Analysis
These are the reports that are going to be retired entirely:
- Lab Practice Report - Lab Practice Items are being replaced in Competency Tracker, so we will not need the report to track LPIs
- Patient Acuity - Being retired due to lack of use
- Transition Course Completion - The product this report tracks was removed in 2018
- CoAEMSP Current Appendix G/H for Programs - Should have been sunset previously, this was replaced by the Appendix G/SMC 2019
- CoAEMSP Student Minimum Competency (SMC) Matrix [formerly known as Appendix G] - Being replaced by the SMC 2023 report (Detailed)
- CoAEMSP Student Minimum Competency (SMC) Matrix [formerly known as Appendix G] Recommendations for Programs Required as of July 2019 - Being replaced by the SMC 2023 Report (Summary Tracking)
- CoAEMSP Summary Tracking Being replaced by the SMC 2023 Report (Summary Tracking)
Those features will be added in our subsequent phases released throughout 2022 and into 2023.
We are retiring some of the Skills Tracker reports that are no longer applicable. Primarily, the outdated CoAEMSP reports will be retired.
This is to be determined.
